We are looking for Laboratory Technicians to work within the lab of our greenfield pilot project located in Antofagasta, Chile. This position will work 3 weeks on – 3 weeks off rotation (flights, accommodations and meals provided). The pilot plant is a 24-hr operation. Shift will be 12hrs – rotating days and nights upon arrival of each shift (3 weeks of days, next shift 3 weeks of nights).

  • Collect and transport samples from plant location to the lab

  • Prepare and transfer samples to designated drop off locations

  • Ensure samples are properly entered in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and are available to operations staff in a timely manner

  • Ensure all sample integrity issues are properly documented and reported

  • Understand standard operating procedures for laboratory equipment and methods including routine maintenance, calibrations, and operation. Previous experience operating an ICP-OES is essential

  • Prepare calibration standards, standard reagents, and samples on a routine basis

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.

  • Identify potential issues or erroneous data from operating instrumentation and communicate with technical team

  • Work with the on-site technical team (if available) or with the remote team to troubleshoot issues

  • Maintain a clean work area, practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental protocols


  • 2-3 years of relevant wet lab experience (particularly in the water treatment or analytical services industries)

  • Completion of Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Assistant certificate program from a recognized institution or, BSc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science.

  • Valid Canadian passport with the ability to work a 3 week on 3 week off rotation schedule

  • Rapid learner and self-motivated contributor who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Detail focused, well-organized, demonstrates good critical thinking and effective communication 

  • Demonstrate good laboratory analytical skills and practices

  • Experience working with potentially hazardous materials
