Summit Nanotech is looking for a Procurement and Sourcing Specialist to support the project teams by executing the timely procurement and delivery of appropriate materials and equipment within the forecasted budget. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate must have experience working both domestically and internationally, be comfortable with overall supply chain processes.



  • Maintaining relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts and reviewing contracts for legal compliance

  • Reviewing purchase orders and ensuring that they are in line with company policies and procedures

  • Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on analysis

  • Recommending new suppliers and negotiating supplier contracts to ensure that all terms are met

  • Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers who can meet the company’s needs

  • Negotiating contract terms with vendors, including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms

  • Following up with vendors to ensure that orders are delivered on time and within budget parameters

  • Set preferred vendors for each category spend to minimize total vendors and maximize savings through bundled negotiated pricing.

  • Review vendor contracts and redline for required changes in terms that are beneficial to the Company.

  • Executing competitive sourcing processes to evaluate, negotiate and select preferred suppliers for multiple materials and services across Operations and Capital Projects. (i.e. RFP, RFI, Bid Tenders, etc)

  • Develop and execute engineering, procurement, & construction (EPC), engineered equipment, and construction services contract project sourcing strategies aligned with business stakeholder priorities.

  • Prepares purchase requisitions, creates and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and contractual terms and conditions

  • Order materials and services as per negotiated and approved agreements

  • Review and codes all invoices relating to the purchase and shipment of goods and services

  • Maintain a constant awareness of current and future market conditions that may affect the supply price or delivery of equipment and materials

  • Verification, receiving & distribution of all incoming orders for inventory & non-inventory parts, including raw materials. Creating notice of arrivals, completing all procurement responsibilities in the receiving process.

  • Review, negotiate and manage contracts with various suppliers.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely the status of supply chain activity to stakeholders.


  • Confident executing tasks within all areas of the supply chain process

  • Solid understanding of domestic and international purchasing, shipping and warehousing

  • Thoroughly familiar with methods of shipping, carriers and shipping lines, domestic and international port regulations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to prepare and make presentations to project and external groups and stakeholders

  • Strong skills within MS Office Suite

  • Strong understanding and experience with various contract types, models, and strategies.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills

  • Proven experience in Operations and Capital Projects/EPC procurement and sourcing processes.

  • Utilize construction project contract expertise to procure EPC/turnkey contracts. Implement strategies to achieve project savings targets.

  • Experience with Water Treatment projects procurement and process is a strong preference

  • 7 + years experience in a Supply Chain Management position with increasing responsibilities within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Industry or energy, mining, chemical industry.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, juggle multiple priorities and deliver in a targeted timeframe and budget

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply chain, Construction Management, or SCM diploma or designation with strong experience

  • Experience with and overall understanding of an Enterprise Resource Planning is an asset (ERP).

  • Experience in vendor negotiations and vendor contract review is required.
