SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

Summit Nanotech is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Engineer to manage current and future Summit operations and provide technical expertise. The Senior Operations Manager must have experience in leading complex plant operations and will be the key contributor in developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure the plant meets commercial and production goals in a reliable and cost-effective manner with strong adherence to all Health, Environmental and Safety policies, and practices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and direction to successfully execute on the strategy set for plant operations.

  • Develop proactive methods for monitoring and improving plant performance and efficiency.

  • Monitor and optimize plant performance, including testing, evaluations, and recommendations for improvement projects.

  • Support the General Manager in the completion of all plant reporting requirements including environmental, safety, budgeting, and plant performance.

  • Develop and implement Maintenance and Reliability standards, processes, and tools to actively manage the preventive maintenance program and optimize it to maximize reliability, efficiency, and safety.

  • Lead project planning, prioritization, and annual maintenance and reliability capital budget development.

  • Lead the development and assist with implementation of turnaround and shut down standards & processes, planning, budget tracking and execution.

  • Ensure associated equipment is operated and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements, industry recognized best practice, and organizational procedure.

  • Anticipate, prioritize, and manage project risks through developing goals, driving issue resolution, and directing resources.

  • Formally and informally lead cross-disciplined personnel and contractors to achieve operational success: zero incidents, high organizational health index, on schedule, and on budget.

  • Track, analyze, and lead key operational deliverables through data analytics and quality assurance and control best practices.

  • Budget, forecast, and manage project OPEX costs through concise tracking and reporting.

  • Review, negotiate and manage contracts with various service providers.

  • Innovate throughout all project stages to implement continuous improvement culture and outcomes.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely the status of projects to stakeholders.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Natural leader that can inspire and supervise multi-disciplined teams and prioritizes safety and efficiency in plant operations through leadership and coaching of personnel.

  • Have strong abilities in analyzing and finding solutions to improve practices with the ability to influence employees at all levels.

  • Experience in developing and implementing safety culture transformation programs.

  • Strong negotiator and mediator capable to bring parties together for mutual success and purpose.

  • Experienced communicator, both oral and written, Spanish knowledge is an asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and construction cost structure.

  • Experience in leveraging outside services in the completion of engineering, procurement, construction services and operations.

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement programs such as PdM, PM, LEAN, and Six Sigma.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft suite including Advanced Excel.

  • Engineer with more than 8 years in the energy/mining/chemical/water/petrochemical industry.
