Summit Nanotech Corporation (“Summit”) is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated accountant to join our Finance team. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, the accountant will work closely with all departments to continuously improve internal controls as the organization grows from pilot-scale to commercial operations.

Summit Nanotech is a burgeoning clean tech start-up that is developing a novel direct lithium extraction process to improve the sustainability of lithium mining to support the EV revolution. Our solutions will reduce emissions, eliminate environmental contaminants, and optimize inefficient processes to generate legitimately green energy storage solutions.   • Full cycle accounting using QuickBooks Online (or similar cloud-based accounting systems)

  • Processing and filing invoices using DEXT Prepare (Receipt Bank) and ApprovalMax

  • Shared responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including vendor maintenance and credit applications

  • Monitor company credit cards and ensure compliance with internal policies

  • Assist in maintaining and improving the chart of accounts

  • Maintenance of a fixed asset subledger

  • Assist with implementation of inventory tracking system 

  • Assist with GST returns and other administrative filings as may be required

  • Assist with grant management and external audits as necessary

  • Other duties as may be required


  • 1-3 years of experience as an accountant

  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online and other stackable applications designed to increase efficiency (DEXT, ApprovalMax, Wagepoint, etc.)

  • Comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Highly effective communication skills and strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and enjoys working in a high-growth environment

  • Experience with IFRS and foreign currencies considered an asset (USD and CLP)
